Introduction to archives for sororities and fraternities

Attendance: 10 students and 2 Student Affairs staff members

Material Pulled:
  1. Phi Beta Kappa Records - Box 1, first minute book (example of earliest student records)
  2. Student Organizations Collection - All boxes with 'Social Fraternities--' and 'Social Sororities--' folders, so that students can see what we have from their chapter (Note: to be able to continue to have something for everyone will need to pull all sorority and fraternity records which have been separated into their own record group.
  3. Kappa Alpha Theta - 1950s and 1970s scrapbooks; correspondence/petition to join national org in 1921/1922
  4. Mary Mackey Sainsbury Papers - her scrapbook documents her pledging and membership in a sorority in the late 1930s, includes party favors as well
  5. Delta Phi Records - Box 1 - most comprehensive fraternity records in the University Archives
  6. Theta Delta Chi, Epsilon Chapter Records - 19th century minute book and 20th century newsletter, fliers, etc.
  7. Pi Kappa Alpha bracelet given to Mary Mackey Sainsbury, University Archives Artifact Collection
  8. Sigma Pi Paddle , University Archives Artifact Collection
  9. Kappa Sigma paddle dance favor , University Archives Artifact Collection
